Velvet is a key trend for the fall/ winter seasons. It's richness and texture has been in all the major runway shows and celebrity red carpets. I think a velvet dress is a option for the holidays for several reasons. First, velvet looks great in deep gem tones like ruby and emerald- great holiday colors! Second, velvet is the perfect material to wear in the colder months. It keeps you warm and fashionable. Third, the feeling of velvet is so cool! You won’t be able to keep hands off of you.
I styled this velvet slip dress with a leather jacket for a street casual look. You can wear a velvet dress with a cute cardigan for a more dressed up look, or just as is for a fancier approach. A red lip is always a good idea for the holidays too!
