Velvet Holiday Outfit

Velvet has been one of the biggest trends this year! It's a great fabric to wear in the colder months and is perfect to wear this holiday season. The fabric look so luxurious and the colors look so rich and vibrant. 

I found this amazing stretch velvet short dress with lace trim details at Century 21! I love the deep burgundy color with the contrast of the black lace details. The trim accents the right parts of the chest, waist, and arms. I love the extended long sleeve that ends with a split detail. It's the perfect arm treatment to show off your rings and manicure. 

For the holidays, get festive by throwing on a fun faux fur jacket. I also found this burgundy faux fur jacket at Century 21 for just $50! Score!! I love Century 21 to find hidden gems like this. For this outfit, I went for a tonal look matching the fur and dress. 

I know it's cold and you don't really want to go out with bare legs- trust me, it is not my thing either. That is why I love fun stockings like these polka dotted pair. The design adds a cool flare to any look. Right now more than ever, it's all about wearing socks with shoes. I think this rule applies for fancy holiday dressing too. It's a modern touch to try out this season.

A Vision in Velvet- Two Velvet Pieces to Purchase for Fall

Velvet is a huge trend this season! You will see velvet everything! From dresses, blazers, bags, shoes, chokers, sweaters, blouses, and pants. This fabrication is the new “it” textile. Fall is my favorite season to wear velvet because it looks great in deep colors and it keeps me warm. In this post, I’m going to show you just how easy it can be to update your wardrobe with a velvet touch. I think these two velvet fashion pieces are a must buy for fall and winter. 

Velvet dresses are great to wear during the day and night. It is a luxurious fabric but can be dressed down with a little layering. I paired this velvet dress with a delicate floral chiffon blouse to make it appropriate for the day. It softens up the look and makes it feminine. I added a belt to cinch my waist and add another fabrication. The leather helps toughen the look up. Another option that would be great is a corset belt. Throw on some booties and you’re set. To take this look into the night, just wear the dress on its own and pair it with heels and sparkly earrings. Keeping the look simple and all about the fabric will have all eyes on you. 

Velvet is perfect for the office too! I fell in love this velvet blazer the minute I saw it- everything from the color to the easy going shape. You can wear the blazer with a traditional white button up or opt out for something fun like this ruffle lace blouse. You can style it with a simple pair of slacks or even denim. I added another fancy fabric of brocade boots to really make this a luxurious look. A velvet blazer is an easy piece to take from day to night
