Health and Habit Building Journey - My 180-Day Challenge Recap & How I Built Habits that Changed My Life

Embarking on a Transformational Health Journey

In a world filled with quick fixes and fad diets, I decided to take a different route – a 180-day health journey. My goal was simple: to transform my lifestyle, embrace healthier habits, and witness natural and sustainable weight loss - no crazy diets or shortcuts – just good vibes and a chill approach to getting healthier. Ready for the deets on my journey to natural and healthy weight loss? Let's spill the tea- insights, triumphs, and challenges!

Flossing Fanatic - Building Consistent Habits

Okay, real talk. I started this whole thing by trying to floss regularly. Who knew it would be such a game-changer? My gums used to stage a mini-war every time (bleeding every time), but now, thanks to Cocofloss, flossing has become a joy rather than a chore. Lesson learned: tiny habits can be the real MVPs in the health game.

Mastering Focus - Unplugging for Productivity

I always heard others speak about how much they accomplished when they focused on one task at a time. So I wanted to try it out for myself to see what the hype was all about. An hour of uninterrupted concentration seemed daunting at first, but girl, it works wonders! For 2024, my plan is to keep the Zen vibes rolling by putting my devices on silent for longer. Let me tell you, it's a game-changer in the productivity department but also contributes to a more fulfilling and accomplished day.

The Power of Face Workouts - Sculpting Change Over Time

Facial exercises were something I practiced occasionally before the challenge but I wasn’t seeing the results I truly wanted. It only takes 5 minutes a day but it took patience – a good 2-3 months – to notice significant changes. The results were worth it!  As I continue to explore innovative ways to make face workouts more accessible, I'm on a mission to find ways to make this face workout thing easier – who doesn't want a sculpted glow-up without breaking a sweat? The transformative impact of face exercises on physical appearance has greatly affected my self-confidence.

Embracing Body Movement - Strength, Both Physical and Mental

Forget boring workouts; the key is finding a workout you ENJOY! Otherwise, you aren't going to do it! To be honest with you, it took me roughly 8 months to enjoy waking up early to head to the gym. Now I wake up with my clothes set out the night before and look forward to my workouts.

What’s the secret? It’s setting small goals like “just make it to the gym”, or “work out for 10 minutes”. Once you accomplish small goals, you can set bigger ones that don’t feel as daunting.

I saw the best physical results through a combination of weight training, cardio, and pilates (but find what works for you). I highly suggest finding a friend to show you the ropes until you become comfortable by yourself.

My biggest motivation came 3 months into the challenge when my clothes started looking and feeling better. Be patient with yourself! Mental perks are real, and I'm not just physically stronger – I'm feeling fierce. It's more than a workout; it's a mood booster!

The Culinary Challenge - The Struggle is Real

Confession time: I'm a foodie, and eating healthy is my kryptonite. But hold up, meal prepping, and tracking saved the day. These practices not only facilitated weight loss but also heightened my awareness of nutritional choices. My weight and fat started shedding once I implemented a healthier diet. This was the biggest and most rewarding part of the challenge. I never stopped eating my favorite foods. I ate a high-protein diet and ate smaller portions of the “unhealthy” foods I didn’t want to give up.

It's a constant struggle, but I'm committed to leveling up my healthy eating game. Let's keep it real – pasta cravings are a thing, but so is self-love.
