Not your basic black suit
Add a pop of color!
Every powerful woman needs a pant suit in their wardrobe. The thing is, people do judge a book by its cover. There have been so many instances when I dress more powerfully, I’ve gotten treated with more respect. This fall, try wearing a pant suit to work or to a more casual environment on the weekends. It will turn heads for sure!
A power suit in a bold color takes it to the next level. Forget the basic black suit this fall. Try something in color like a yellow suit, red, or even pink. Solange killed it in her yellow suit earlier this year and that is what inspired this look. Yellow is also a big color this fall! I've linked some of my favorite colored suits for you below. As far as accessories, mix in some metallics like gold or silver. This will make the look more luxurious.
Mix Suit Pieces
Pull a jacket from one suit and a pair of pants from another to create a fun look!
Another great reason to invest in a suit is that the pieces are interchangeable. You can mix your blazer with a pair of pants from another suit or wear it with jeans if you want a casual look. For this outfit, I mixed a new blazer with a pair of pants from a suit. The key with mixing pieces, is to be in the same color story. I pulled the pink from the blazer to my pants. The easy combination is always bringing it back to black. When mixing pieces, you can go bold by mixing colors, change up the patterns, and even combine silhouettes. I love wearing a masculine boxy boy blazer with a slim pant, or a fitted blazer with a wide leg pant. The key is always balance.
