On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink!

Happy Wednesday! We're half way through the work week : )

Mean Girls left an everlasting phrase " On Wednesdays, we wear pink". Ten years later, and we still say it! Amazing right? I love how the entertainment industry and fashion mix with each other. Designers are inspired by movies and film can be inspired by fashion moments. 

I found this hot pink blazer at a local Goodwill. I knew with a little TLC, it could be stunning. The old buttons really aged the blazer (the blazer read granny from the early 90s). I found these beautiful black crystal buttons that I thought were perfect. They also glam up the blazer by adding just the right amount of sparkle. 

I'm a big fan of menswear on women so the classic black pant and white collared shirt were the perfect combo to go with the hot pink blazer. Adding the black bow tie and clutch adds a feminine touch and the pink blazer takes this look to girly girl.

50 Shades of Gray

So is anyone else obsessed with the color gray this season as well as Christian Grey!?!

Gray has been one of the hottest colors this season. Anything from pastel tints to dark charcoal shades. Monochromatic head to toe looks have been a huge trend this past year as well. Wearing the same color in different hues is the key to pull the look off. Also wearing different textures of materials helps add dimension and interest to the look. 

I combined wool, cotton, and a knitted sweater to help add volume/ dimension with this full gray look. The shades of grays I'm wearing are very close to each other in color. So to break it up, I added a stripe and chevron pattern to break it up. Also the gunmetal jewelry adds a little sparkle in the matte shades.
