How to Mix Prints in Fall

Print mixing looks great but can be quite a challenge too. I love mixing prints, especially in the Fall because you can incorporate accessories like scarves.

The easiest print to mix with are stripes. It's the best because it gives you a basic foundation of colors to play with. It is also a simple pattern so it becomes the least distracting. With stripes, I love mixing in a plaid print. The paid adds a nice addition of color/ pop of color. Plaid and stripes compliment each other very well because they are both linear and flat patterns. To add a bit of fun, I like to throw a little animal print in. Cheetah prints are always great because they add a three dimensional effect. The colors are also neutral so they bring it back to basically any color. See my other print mixes here.

Here are examples of basic print mixes to try:

Stripe + plaid

Stripe + floral

Stripe + plaid + cheetah

Stripe + floral + polka dots
