Current Skincare Routine: Morning and Night

One thing we cannot defy is the movement of time. We all age which causes the skin to lose collagen, gain facial/ wrinkle lines, sun and/ or acne marks, and dullness in color. However, to slow down the process of aging, we can apply certain skincare products to help maintain our youth. Today, I am sharing my current morning and night skincare routine. I am showing you the exact steps in which I apply the products as well.

MORNING ROUTINE

During the morning/ day, one step I never skip is wearing sunscreen. It is a crucial part of preventing skin damage since sun exposure is one of the biggest culprits for skin decline. Another great sun fighting agent is vitamin c! It is an antioxidant meaning they help prevent the cell damage caused by harmful molecules. Vitamin C limits the damage induced by ultraviolet (UV) light exposure. I apply this first before hyaluronic acid to help penetrate the product deeper. The hyaluronic acid helps lock in moisture in the skin but an important factor to remember is to make sure that the skin is slightly damp beforehand and by adding additional moisture through a cream afterward. I use vitamin c two to three times a week.

Follow the steps below after cleansing.

NIGHT ROUTINE

At night, I like to focus my attention on repair and renewal. Retinol is one of my all-time favorite products for anti-aging. Retinol is a great ingredient to start using in your mid-twenties. However, it is known to cause irritation and dryness so start by using this product once or twice a week before building up usage. Niacinamide is an ingredient that compliments retinol and helps balance out the harsh side effects retinol can cause. Niacinamide reduces inflammation which may help ease redness from eczema, acne, and other inflammatory skin conditions. It is also great for oily skin types as it minimizes pore appearance and regulates oil.

Follow the skincare routine below after double cleansing and removing makeup.
