Three Ways to Wear Biker Shorts

So a trend I have been going back and forth about for a while are biker shorts. I couldn’t decide if I liked the trend or not. So I gave myself a challenge, how many ways could I style biker shorts in a way I would actually wear them? After taking this challenge, I have actually grown to like biker shorts! I think the fact that they were from my favorite brand, Commando, truly helped. These faux leather bike shorts are so unbelievably comfortable, are made from a high quality fabric, hug tight perfectly to the body, are a great length, and the shine from the leather elevate any look. I lived in my Commando leggings this winter so I know I’m gonna be wearing these bike shorts all spring/ summer long.

Business Casual

The modern day business woman can even make biker shorts acceptable for for work. Since biker shorts are so casual, I wanted to make this look more sophisticated and tailored. No better way to do that than to throw on a blazer. A boxy boyish blazer is a staple every woman should own because it’s so versatile. You can wear it buttoned up and belted or wear it unbuttoned like I did here for after hours. Since the blazer is oversized, adding attention to the waist is key. A simple way to do this is by adding a statement belt. When I wear masculine pieces, I bring back the femininity with my accessories. I added a ton of gold necklaces and pearl hair clips to make this look more my style.

Color Block Coolness

Black shorts look great when worn with pops of color. So throw on a colored top to spice up the black shorts. Neon colors are so hot right now so when choosing a color, consider bright neons. For the springtime, add a denim jacket to add some coolness and some warmth.

Color blocked heels are really fun way to add color to finish off a look. They are statement makers and when layered with socks, they look great with shorts.

Sporty chic

Since biker shorts are originally made for riding bikes, I figured the no brainer way to style this look would be in a sporty way. Taking influence from the 80s, I brought out my rocker T-shirt and fanny pack. A graphic T-shirt is a great option to pair with biker shorts because it makes the look a bit grungy. Half tuck the shirt in the front like I did to show the waist. You don’t want to loose your body shape with a big shirt, especially because the shorts are kinda sexy. This casual sporty look is perfect for the weekend when you’re running errands and hanging out with friends. It’s incredibly comfortable but the leather biker shorts take it to the next level. Add a trendy bit of neon to your look too. This fanny back is designed by a Puerivian brand Goldealers and you can shop their cool gear here.

So try out biker shorts this Spring and Summer and style them one of these ways!
